Monk Pay

Pricing

The price is the whole price.

Here is everything we charge. These figures are pulled live from the system that actually charges you, so this page cannot drift out of date.

Our fees

Sending to another Monk Pay wallet0.5% of the amount
Adding money to your walletNo Monk Pay fee
Withdrawing to a bank or mobile moneyNo Monk Pay fee
Exchange-rate margin (only when the currency changes)0.01%

Fees are charged in the currency of the transaction. A card network or mobile-money operator can add its own charge at the point of payment; if it does, the app shows it before you confirm.

The exchange-rate margin is the difference between the mid-market rate and the rate we give you. Some currency pairs have their own margin; the calculator always shows the exact figure.

Work out your own transfer.

Type an amount and pick the currencies. You will see each cost on its own line, exactly as the app shows it.

The three places a transfer can cost you

1. The fee. The visible charge. Easy to compare, and the easiest to make look small.

2. The exchange rate. If a service gives you less than the mid-market rate, the difference is a charge too, just one that is not labelled. A "no fee" transfer with a poor rate can cost more than a transfer with a fee and a fair rate.

3. What the recipient pays to cash out. Some services take a charge on arrival, so your recipient receives less than you were told.

On Monk Pay all three are on the review screen before you confirm: our fee, the mid-market rate and our margin, and the estimated cash-out fee.

What we will not do

  • Hide a margin inside the rate

The mid-market rate and our margin are always shown separately.

  • Charge a fee we have not shown you

If a payment partner adds a charge, you see it before you confirm.

  • Keep the price list secret

The fee schedule above is the one every customer pays.
